Default '96 5 spd transmission types

I just dropped off my tranny at a shop to have them look over it. They say it needs new bearings and want to know if this was out of an RS or a GS so they can order the parts. This for a transmission marked as an S80 out of a '96 Special Edition Integra with the non-vtec engine. So does anyone know what the correct answer is?

"Special Edition" Integras are GS's by a different name. The Special Edition replaced the GS on the trim line-up for a few years.

It doesn't matter, they all use the same trans except for the GS-R.

they most likely said gs-r and rs

but yeas, ls/rs/gs/se are all interchangable when it comes to engine/tranny

the type-r is it's own engine/ tranny as is the gsr
