Default replaced air filter...now alot of noise

Alright I replaced my generic, dirty air filter on my short ram intake like a month or so ago with a K&N filter of similar design. Anyway, now I have a kind of high pitch whistling noise from the intake...at idle. Is this very common? I mean, the other filter was pretty filthy and presumably clogged up so maybe I just couldn't notice the noise as much. It's kind of annoying...

im assuming you checked the seals on it and everything...make sure there isn't a little hole in the filter anywhere...also check all up the intake area u could have a gap somewhere...thats all i can think of....unless u went from paper to metal the sound shouldn't have changed that much from metal > metal

Therse probably a leak or somethign not fitting right. Check the seal from your intake tubing to your intake manifold.

Could be the noise of air trying to get past the throttle body. I have the same noise.

yeah, I'm thinking its just the increase in the volume of air flow created by the new filter...maybe.
