Default when DOES vtec kick in?

so i was reading this post.... http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...urnPage=Search

and they are claiming 4400-4700. Now i drive a 97 gsr, and when i floor it in 4th gear (so i can hear the rpm's clearer and slower) i can hear a change in sound at 4700 and then vtec @ 6k (on the dot). Someone told me that the butterfly opens at 4700 (in the TB?)
Anyways, what is the stock vtec crossover/engagement? And what is the butterfly/when does it open (Besides full throttle) lol

Thanks

The noise you are hearing is the IABs opening up. They open up at around 5700 rpms at any throttle position besides 0%.

The cams switch to the VTEC lobes at 4400rpm.
