Default Who Else Has A Leaky Tail Light??

Soooo its been raining in oregon and i noticed a musty smell this mornin the other day when i got in... I found a decent amount of trailing water coming from the tail lights. I popped off the rear plastic piece and tightened the tail bolts down, but its still leakin. It has a sunroof... and ive heard that the rails can get clogged? Where do the rails take the water from the sunroof? Also, where can i get new (maybe thicker?) tail light gaskets. I searched to no avail
*buyin air freshener tomorrow*

I would look into replacing the taillight gaskets. They wear out over time and usually contribute to leaking. My taillights did the same thing as yours and when I replaced the gaskets, they were dry from then on.

The best way to water proof is to get new gaskets from the dealership and run a bead of clear silicone around the back of the lamp housing where the gasket makes contact. Set the gasket in place, and run a bead around the cut outs in the body where the gasket makes contact, and install the lamp and gasket assy while the silicone is still wet. If you opt to just reseal your original gaskets, it's easier to see where to put the silicone because of the imprints in the gasket, so putting silicone on each side of the gasket is the best method for used gaskets. If you partially remove the front splash shields, you will see the drain holes for the sun roof, one each side. In the rear, they're up under the bumper cover in the wheel well IIRC.

removed mine...redid weatherstripping...not a drop in it...just make sure it's nice and thick...and if u notice it chipping or flaking it could be the culprit...change it and you'll be golden

Those pin clips are a bastard if you don't know how they work. Press the center in a little bit and the whole pin lifts out. Press the center down too much, and it spreads out the underneath of the clip and it won't pull out, and you can't get the center back up either so the pin is done for.
