you don't need to remove the steering column to change the combination switch. you need to remove the upper and lower covers along with the steering wheel. the combination switch can be removed at that point.

for my G2 i dont have a airbag so that made it easier. and i HAD to take out my steering wheel in order to unscrew the screws holding the switch in. just take off steering wheel, then unscrew things until u get to the switch, really not that hard. im a n00b when it comes to these things and i didnt with ease
