Default 1st time Tegger

Hello everyone,

I am really new to the forum. I bought an 89 LS for 500 dollars a month ago. The previous owner fried the breaks, I believe the front left calliper collapsed and locked up. I changed both front calipers, rotors and pads. The breaks seems fine right now. According to him, he has't driven the car for a whole year. It was too dusty inside, I dont really know if he did really drive it or not. I did the regular maintenance.. sprak plugs, oil, filter, etc.

He also told me that he disabled the parking brake because, he had the rear brakes lock up on him twice. I didnt really try using it since a couple of nights ago.. For some reason it is working.

I did a trip for about 1500 miles. I got rear ended by a Ford f-150.. only cracked the rear bumper surprisingly. (one more thing to fix). By the time I got home, the oil light went off, so I added 2 quarts of oil. The engine is running rather good, so I thought it might have been the PCV valve, so I changed it. I was't getting good gas milage either. The Insturment panel doesnt have a gas light so, I really cant tell if it is really empty or not. When I fill at "e", there is always 3 gal. of fuel left in it.

This is all I have to say for today, it also seems like I need new O rings on the fuel injectors... they are leaking... do you think it leaks too much that I am not getting good gas milage.

Thanks everyone..

Welcome, That's the same car I bought a little over a month ago. What is your mileage. Mine's getting over 30 mpg, but burns a bunch of oil.

Right now, it has 162k. It is not bad compared to my ex 86 accord. How much more oil do you have to add in after a 1000 miles regularly?

thought you should know 87thru89 integras like to leak oil from the head gasket. at least thats my experiance. if i were you id think about a swap. i had a 87 crx with an 79 integra engin the best car ive owned yet. i rebuilt the engin twice and couldent get it to stop even had the head and block plained still dident stop. i was about to swap for a b16a but i got stationed over seas and could only bring one car so i sold the crx. good luck finding parts.
