I have a 90 teg (automatic ) and want to swap trannys (install 5 speed ), I wanted to know besides the new tranny what other parts would i need to make the swap successful (axels?). Also what kind of tranny would give the car decent pull. I've never swapped a tranny before so ANY advice would be kindly appreciated. Thanks!

 

the LS tranny for the 90 is a Y1, S1 cable tranny (stock). since u r going to buy all new tranny stuff u may as well get hyrdo tranny. so get a hydro tranny, then pedal assembly, clutch cylinder, and on and on. if u search u should come up with everything u need.

the LS tranny gives the car a nice pull (i also have a 90 ls) but if u want quick acceleration, get a GSR tranny
