Default skunk2 IM

hey guys i just installed my pro series skunk2 intake mani. and when i installed it i didnt take the whole old gasket off it was stuck so i got as much as i could..well i started the car and it leaked fluid out the bottom of the manifold were the radiator hose is,i was wondering if the gasket has anything to do with that?? whats an easy way to get that gasket off?

you have to take the old gasket off COMPLETELY if not you will have a leak and your idle will be loopy. Did you at least put a new gasket on?

ya i did put a new one on, but i didnt take all of the old gasket off i really wasnt thinking..kinda feel stupid now,whats the best way to get it off cuz its stuck to the motor?

you just have to sit there with a razor or go buy a gasket scraper, sandpaper also works

the intake manifold requires an AIR/LIQUID-tight seal!

debris and old gasket will definitely lead to leaks and improper engine behavior.

where can you get these gaskets. dealership, etc. I didnt replace mine and my idle starts off at 2k in the morning but drops when it warrms up. I also smeel buring every now and then

oh man, this brings back the memorys of my skunk2 IM. What a headache me and teg went threw over a dam sensor :chuckles:
