Buddy of mine swapped a B16A into a 2nd gen teg just fine. Not sure what that means for a B18C

B18C5 (USDM) is listed at 195 crank btw

keep your B17!!!! u want to have a "type r" engine in there? then just put in some internal mods to it... cams, valvetrain, mild head work, ported throttle body, port match the intake manifold to the head... you already have flat top pistons which are cool but if you want to raise compression then i guess you can swap in some b18c/GSR pistons which are slightly domed.

the g2 gsr has the amazing tranny and crank/rod combo... keep it!

keep your engine, the only thing that makes the b18c5 better is higher compression, lighter camshafts, bigger intake manifold. if you replace your engine enternals, port polish, raise compression, bore out your intake manifold or get a racing one, your b17a will be a lot better than a stock b16c5. its not worth the money

Like everyone else is saying, there's not really a reason to put a B18C5 in a G2 GSR. 5 grand for 35 hp out of a used motor is a bit steep.

But if you for some reason want to, keep your cable tranny. The gear ratios are identical so with a bit more work you can just put your cable tranny on the R motor and toss everything back in no problem.

What I would suggest rather than getting the R motor is a rebuild with high-comp pistons, new rods, lumpy cams, i/h/e, better intake manifold, etc.

Keep the B17. There is only one B-series motor rarer then the B18C5, and you already have it. Besides you can build the B17 to do almost as much for less hassle.

and a lot less money. Even if the motor is beat, you could rebuild it beefed up for a lot less jack.
