Maint Reqrd < light came on
well i bought my geeser not to long ago its fine it drives fast and races great but my maintenace required light came on and i arelady gave it a tune up new spark plugs oil filter, oil the works n stuff. i heard theres a button u have to push to reset the ecu or does any one know how to do it?
kool...sounds good, but when i went to the dealer they told me i had to change my tranny fluid i have a 96gsr 5 speed...they said if i did that it would automaticaly turn off....could that be a reason why my gears are harder to shift? i blead the clutch all the way already...when i put my car in 1st and go it stalls a bit but it still goes and when i redline 2-3rd gear it grinds...or do i just need another clutch????
The maint req'd light never goes off on it's own & it only indicates scheduled maintenance. Are you talking about the check engine light?
You may need a new clutch, you may just need to flush/top off your trans fluid. Make sure you use Honda MT Trans fluid. MAKE SURE.

Honda MTF is a must because there are additives that keep your car from heating up as easily... but you only need that if you're doing something with the clutch... the maitenance light wouldn't indicate a need for Manual Transmission Fluid...
there's a bolt at about 7 o'clock by your pass. side suspension layout on the transmission, which is where it's drained and filled.... but again, probably not your issue.
You don't want a stage 5 clutch, because it's going to be of no use to you...
if you don't have the horsepower, don't bother, waste of money, your leg will fall off from how stiff the set up would be, I can't remember the exact reason, but goin overkill on a clutch it not going to be beneficial, and will probably break.
welcome to HAN, by the way...
keep the questions coming, but don't forget that there is a search button... read read read, and you'll actually learn a lot from these people.
alright kool... how about a stage 1? yeah well ima change the tranny oil and c how that turns out, but i want to get a performace clutch...the reason i want to get the clutch from clutch masters is because 4 of my freinds have bought clutches from them and they have good experiences with them
generally speaking the more power a clutch and flywheel setup can take the faster it engages... using a stage 5 clutch if stupid because you wouldnt be able to slip it for shit most likely and you'll end up wearing your drink.
