I think my coolant fans do not work cause my car overheats after about 30 miles and have not seen the fans move. Where is the engine coolant temperature switch located or the sensor..rrrr i need help. My fans dont work and car overheats...what should i do?
BTW checked coolant and thermostat doesnt control the fans. I also checked all fuses. I just need to know what turns the fans on and if thats the problem.
The fans not working wouldn't cause your car to overheat. Check your coolant level and thermostat.
If your cruisin on teh freeway the fans wouldnt help but if your in traffic or idling, thats when the fans kick on.
What type of driving are you doing when it overheats? Does the fan come on when you turn the A/C on?
The fans do come on when the A/C is on. Wheew! i thought it was a fuse prob or relay or something. I just bought the car and the only time the fans come on is when the A/C is on. Please help!
fan switch is located on the thermostat housing. if your fan isn't turning on when the car is heating up then i'd change the switch. wether or not the thermostat is bad your radiator fan should be turning on.
