Default 2.5" pointless on DD

i thinking of getting a new exhaust like a 2.5" but would it be pointless since my plans are to only mod I/H/E for a while (1-2 years). i may want the comptech 2.25" but i think it might be too restrictive with flow. pointless or not?

yes u don't need that large of piping for intake and header, i have 2.36 (60mm) piping on my turbo gsr, and that is plenty fine!

For a mild bolt-on build, 2.5" is a tad big.
It'll be rather boomy and flatulent as well. :a:

I'd go with the Comptech, RSR ExMag II or Apexi World Sport II.
They're quiet and unobtrusive when you want them to be, and produce a nice, cultured exhaust note when you're on the throttle.

i was also wondering if an exhaust made for an type-r (not type-r exhaust) would fit a 00 gsr. from what i've read it does but not too sure yet.

i want the full comptech exhaust setup but its not a constant flow of 2.25". the header is 2", hi-flo cat would be 2.25" and exhaust is 2.25"... but that's OD.
so in that case ID would be 1.8--->2.25--->2.20".

The exhaust for an ITR would fit the 00-01 GSR, but it would be the same...it's not better or anything because it's made for a type r. Now, the OEM type r exhaust is better than the OEM gsr exhaust, but not as good as aftermarket.

And you probably have no torque whatsoever.

I wouldn't go more than 60mm on a lightly modded N/A motor, that is, if it is mandrel bent. If it is crush bent, you may be able to get away with 2.5" since the bends will be noticably smaller in diameter.

I give a second vote for the Apexi World Sport II
they're nice, because they're
A) suttle
B) quiet until you rip into them.
c) a lower more humble sounding at normal revs.

which = no cop harassment unless you're going fast enough to deserve it.

thanks 2.25" it is.

can someone confirm this. i've read that aftermarket exhausts for 94-01 GS,LS,RS, 97-01 ITR and 00-01 GSR are basically the same. is that true will a 00 GSR exhaust will bolt right up to a 99 LS with no modifications?
