Default Just had new exhaust installed...

Everything is stock from the cat up to the exhaust manifold. I had a custom catback installed with OBX Muffler...I love the sound it makes its a low tone when eccelerating. My only concern is the muffler shop told me that I could get a fix it ticket for having a aftermarket muffler if its too loud "it depends on the cop". But I have the Silencer in so it sounds stock when idling and only Low tone when Speeding up.

Can/Will a cop pull me over just because The aftermarket muffler? I see people all over with greddy's and trucks that are super loud compared to mine.

Anyone else been driving with other then stock mufflers with no troubles in the northern california area?

P.s. I searched for laws on this specific topic and all I can find is excessive DB Laws. http://www.bikersrights.com/states/c...0_attach2.html Found Here.

I was pulled over once for my exhaust back when I just had I/H/E because of a noise violation. I told him that the exhaust was 50 state legal because it was under 95 dB at WOT, so he looked at his code book and gave me the benefit of the doubt.

In your case, I would keep that silencer in. If you do happen to get a fix-it ticket, there is no guarantee that it will pass the noise standards in your state.

The look will attract the heat, but it is the noise that will commit them to pulling you over. When you see then say what's up, that's what I do. Otherwise they may think you have something to hide. It can go both ways I'm sure... but this is from my experience.

Cops aren't going to pull you over for the sound alone. I run a JDM ITR header with 2.5" collecter, a hollow cat and a 2.5" T1R exhaust. It's LOUD. I've never been pulled over for it, even when right next to the cops.

What is going to get you pulled over every time is poor driving.

"Most" cops look for irregular behavior pattern when their presence is known. Ie: changing lanes, slowing way down, rolling your windows up, you looking the other way etc. Acknowledging their presence and staying cool about your business is the better way to go. Since most people don't like be around cops since it's makes them feel like they are doing something wrong when they are really not, but that is just what the uniform does to people. I use to want to be a cop and did a lot of research before applying myself. I learned quite a bit and even did a few ride alongs, boring as fuck cause nothing happened, but I got a lot of inside scoope law enforcement way of thinking. That and my father n law is a cop and he keeps me posted on new tactics and what not.

I don't know where Ceres CA is exactly and I cannot say I have ever heard of it, but the last time I was pulled over here in Orange County, the deputy told me my loud exahaust and slotted/drilled rotors got his attention. So he felt obligated to pull me over and check out my car. I would connsider yourself lucky, cause down here, noise level is a red flag.

You have never dealt with bored cops or racist cops. I have a perfect driving record and I used to get pulled over nearly every other day and get verbal warnings for something they just made up, or something they were trying to pin on me.

In high school, a cop followed me out of my school parking lot and pulled me over and said my registration was expired, I told him it says FEB on the plate (no date is on it - Ohio) and he, while holding my license said in an irritated voice "It's expires on your birthday!" I said, my birthday is in December. Probably after feeling stupid, he wrote me a ticket and then told my gf to wear her seatbelt (she had it on already), then after feeling stupid again, he said, "oh, I didn't see that you had your seatbelt on." I had to waste my time and fight the ticket that got thrown out... My parents renewed the registration on the 6th - dad's b-day is on the 5th - bastard wrote me a ticket on the day it expired,

This is probably an isolated case, this is probably what happens when you're the only asian kid in the city, let alone the high school and you're dating a white girl. I hook it up...
