Default is it hard to install cam gears? and what kind of power would it give.SORRY IM NOOB

im thinking of buying some AEM cam gears for my 92 ls integra, has anyone intalled them themselves before, is it hard? is it easy to mess up while installing new ones, sorry im a new to cars and intalling parts. i think cams give you more tourque right? not sure how much. but its more than it has stock. the only thing from stopping me from buying this is i wouldn't know what near by shop to take it to. anyone know if its hard to install, or about a shop that deals with aftermarket parts?

first, search.

camGEARS and camSHAFTS are two different things. installing camgears on stock cams will not give you any more power.

like snoop said, cam gears won't do anything for you on stock cams. do a little more research

install cam gears isnt that hard, there held on by 1 bolt. Make sure when you take them off that you dont loose the little aligment key.

You just have to becareful if you're installing cam gears... some cams, like OEM or Skunk2 (stage1 atleast) have the holes to keep the cams still while you tighten the bolt that fastens the gear on the cams... but some cams don't have this hole. i.e. BC3+

cam pulleys (cam gears) are just for powerband placement purposes. you'll adjust them when your dynoing your car.

It may not be hard to actually remove and replace the cam gears, but remember to get them off you need to remove the timing belt which is rarely an easy task. Then you have to make sure all your timing marks line up before you put the belt back on or else you'll screw your engine up bad.

And like many people have said, it wouldnt be worth puting only cam gears on. After market cams are mainly for lightening purposes and shaving one pound or so, it isnt going to do anything
