Actually, the Legend was turned into the RL.

The Vigor is the TL, I'm assuming the CL also.
i thought it was the vigor into RL and legend 2 and 4 door into the CL and TL. right? since the vigor was bigger than the legend and the RL is bigger than the TL.

Actually, the Vigor was targeted to the (then non-existant) market between the Integra and the Legend. Honda thought that there was a whole class of people that wanted a more refined car then the Integra, and a cheaper car then the Legend. The Vigor is almost the size of the Legend of the same era, and of course bigger then the Integra. They choose an inline five to keep the car sporty and give the car a little more "go" then an I4, but not as expensive as a C-series V6. The first TL's were basically rebadged second generation Vigor., still using the 2.5L G25 inline five.

Why must Acura follow the steps of BMW, Puegot, Mercedes, etc. and use stupid TL, Rl, 2.5, GS i5. Isint it just so much easier to say Integra or Legend and know what people are talking aobut. I hate change! Don't Conform! When you go to buy your new Integra/RSX ask for an Integra! How long before Honda does this.....
Pretty soon We'll be saying "Hey- Check out that ricced out Ht5-601 to the third......."

Well they have to come up with some way to market a change.

Market those people who didn't like the Legend or Integra ....and make them say "hey what's this Acura 3.5RL???" or "hey did you see that new Acura RSX Type - S?!"

personally if i owned a successful organization, i'd come up with new names quickly to catch consumer's attention. And now it seems that everyone wants to distinguish each car with the displacement in the name, which is confusing a bit.....

but i hear ya on the "Ht5-601 to the third" thing!

The reason the Integra is the most stolen car is because so many of its parts are compatible with the lowly Civic. They aren't stealing just any integra either. They are ripping off the modified ones and the GSRs. Nobody wants your stock LS engine. They can rip an SI off for that. They want the GSR motors and the bolt ons that we put on all models. The RSX doesn't have anything in common parts wise. I don't think that the engine is something that just plugs into a 94 Civic or something. The Integra will be the most stolen car for awhile untill they come out with a car that is as compatible with as many other models as the Integra is. Just my opinion though.

From what i know and heard, the newer honda/acuras are harder to steal. 98+ accord, don't know about civics, rsx. Even the 99+ integras are harder to steal than 97- i believe. 96-97 accord also harder than 95- accords.
