Default A/C heating vent question.

On my 95 LS that I sold and on my current 98 GSR, whenever I have just the vent open and set to the max cold setting, it blows in warm air. Why? Is this because I changed the stock air filter to a SRI? This was done on both cars. Or is this some other problem?
Now my GF's stock Civic 2004 will blow in cool air when set to max cold.

what do you mean by max cold setting? As in on the selector bar? And by just vent I take that to mean that you do not have the A/C on. If this is the case, the vent blows in air that is the same temp as the outside. If it is cold out it will be cold, if it is hot out it will be hot - even if the selector is put on cold. The selector just controls if air is blown through your heater core - if you put it on warm or hot it will blow air through your heater core which is like a mini-radiator - using your engine's heat to warm the air.

Now, if you have the A/C on then you probably need to have the system looked at. If it is really hot out try using the recirculate button to only cool the air already in the car.

Hope that helps.

OK a bit of clarification.
No A/C
Outside temp mid 60's air blowing in mid 70's. (maybe no that dramatic) but not same temp as outside, not at all. The selctor bar is all the way to the left (cold) and no slack in the selector bar cable. Same time test btwn civic and integra. civic air is cooler. I can even you my digital temp probe to get exact numbers later on.
