Default Clutch resistance?

I tried a few searches on this but couldnt find anything.

Im having an issue with my clutch. During normal driving and upshifting everything is fine. Under hard acceleration (upshifting) everything is fine. I run into problem if i need to downshift for acceleration. Meaning if im cruising in 5th or 4th and want to downshift i i press on the clutch and as soon as i get to engagement point it just freezes. I can sometimes power through it but most of the time i dont wanna break anything so i just let off and if i give it a push again it will go in. Clutch fluid level seems fine.

The times it does go in if i power through it i can feel a "click" of sorts.

I dont knwo if its related but i figure id also mention under ANY type of driving when in first and press the clutch to go into second you can feel it let go through out the whole car, almost as if a major peice of the drive train is disconnected. I dont know how well i am explaining it. If anyone need further clarification i will try harder. I just want to know what is goin on and take car of it before it gets worse.

Check your shift linkage. Lube it up and verify everything is kosher or next time you force it, you could force it right out of the sockets which will turn you stick shifter into spaghetti. You may have bent it ever so slightly one way or another.

After giving it some thought, i would like to know how can the shift linkage located below my shifter can affect the pedal freezing? I just want to know if i can understand the mechanics of it. Plus are other issues like the throw out bearing or anything else ruled out?.
