Default nitrous on 230k ls motor?

I have a 90 acura integrs ls, with 230k. Its some new parts, not many. I was wondering what everyones opinion would be on a 50 dry shot in the intake. Is it safe with this many miles? What could i do to the engine to make it a little bit safer? Should i run i compression test or leak down to see where im at?

I took out an 04 auto civic ex, with an intake and exhaust. sohc vtec vs my non-vtec dohc. Maybe he cant drive, or maybe my car hasnt lost alot of compression. I bought my car from a guy who kept up with the work and it was very well taken care of. So, who knows. I've heard different opinions from professionals as well as other honda owners on the nitrous issue. They vary alot, so I am unsure what i want to do. As soon as my old car sells, im hoping to get my kit.

if the compression is good, leakdown is good, everything is tuned up. no knocks, pinging, etc. then sure, why not. dont get crazy with it.

Not such a wonderful idea. If you do it, keep it at a low pressure. Very low.

As long as the motor is in good shape...good compression and leakdown, and you tune it properly, and don't abuse it...you should be fine. Your clutch, however, won't last long.

maybe you should rebuild the engine first, or make sure its in the tip top condition it needs to be...

Think of it this way:
The damage you could possibly cause will cost you more time and money than rebuilding your motor and getting yourself a 3 angle valve job along with I/H/E.

yeah, see im getting mixed reviews here as well. at a local shop i hear i can get a >30k jdm ls motor for $1000, that includes shipping. that sounds good to me, sounds like the best upgrade i could do right now. im also picking up some used 4-2-1 headers on thursday. how much hp can you gain from that on average?
