Default AEM short ram

I just got my AEM short ram. The instructions sy to disconnect the water hose that runs from the throttle body to that intake manifold. Then after the new intake is installed, to connect the hose again using a new hose and clamps supplied with the kit. Is this really necessary? The hose isn't part of the intake tube.

The only hose attached to the stock intake tube is the one that goes to the valve cover, which I replaced. The one they say to replace is from the TB to intake manifold.

Yes, replace it.
I have a feeling AEM put that there for a reason.

You dont need it!! Mine isnt attached primarly cause the hose was too long to reatach it so i gotta cut it down.. its an oil thing....
thats why you see somes guys with breathers instead of the hose. It alows warm oil to keep your intake manifold from freezing in cold weather. Even if you dont attach it I hear it will freeze 1 in 10000 times
