Default throttle response?

heres my problem. I got a ls/vtec. On pretty much any gear, when i punch the pedal to the floor or just even a medium to hard step, my engine cholks. This cholk feels like a delay as if im pressing the pedal, but it responds like a half a second later. its weird. its like you can hear the air flowing through when your press the pedal, but something is stopping it from flowing smoothly that jolts the engine when you press on the pedal fast or suddenly. After the choking, it accelerates just fine. FYI, i have dc headers, b18c1/gsr, with no exhaust or other mods. Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? If not, anybody know San Jose/South bay mechanics that knows whats up with swapped motors?
