Default Front speaker question/help

I've got a '95 LS Sedan.

I'm not a speaker/audio person, so this hasn't really bugged me, and I haven't had the money to get it looked at/fixed by a professional, but shortly after I got my car in '01, the front speakers started acting up, the pretty much died. I'll get either a little sound or some light hissing out of them, but that's it. Recently, though, the speaker on the passenger side has started coming back in, leading me to believe that I might have some loose wires...at least in that one.

My question: how do I check this? Are there directions somewhere I can look at, or is this a job for a professional?

pop your door panels off and check the speaker connections. that should be the first thing you should do.

-screw down in the door handle(where you close the door)
-screw behind the door (open) handle
-plastic screw up near the front, its hidden when you close the door

then just gently pry up on the door from all sides, then slide it out.

it takes practice and paitence to get it back in, gotta be just right

its for a 2 door, but basically the same

Awesome, thanks! Now...if it IS a loose wire or bad speaker connections, will this be obvious to me and if so, will it be easily fixable?

if you can twist wires back together, you can do it. better yet solder them if you have the skills, but its looking like you dont.

if you're just getting a little sound, then the person who hooked those speakers up before you may have gotten the wires on one of the speakers backwards so that the sound is out of phase. that means one speaker cone is pushing out while the opposite speaker cone is pulling in. they may be cancelling eachother out, so make sure the red/black wires are routed the same.

you don't have to pop out the whole door panel. Just the speaker cover. remove the speaker and test another one and see what happends.

How do I do that without removing the whole door panel?
