91 Teg ls running rough
My 1991 integra LS will start most of the time. However it runs like it is skipping in one of the cylinders. My friend has tried replacing the fuel filter and the entire distributer, but it still runs so bad you can not drive it. In the high RPMS it runs fine but when you touch the gas from idle speed it studders. No smoke and the car does not burn oil. The Motor makes a ticking noise, but it has always made that noise. I bought it with 41K and now it has 139k. Plugs and wire seem ok. I brought it to a shop and they indicated that the #3 cylinder was not getting voltage in the low rpms. Can anyone help out here i would really love to figure this out. Thanks.
I did that and it did help alot. I advanced the timing and it runs almost perfect now except a studder when I first tap on the gas from a stand still. I am still working on the problem and I would like to get it just right. Most likley I am asking alot on a car with 140K on it. Thanks for the tip.Keep the ideas coming I am running out.
140k? thats it? the honda is in the prime of its life, if she has been taken care of.
if its studdering, and youve replaced/check all fuel/ignition parts, id clean the throttle body, check the throttle cable

I have completed the following
*Fuel Filter
*entire distributer
*Wires
*plugs
*Vacum hose to PVC (was pinched)
*Poured injecter cleaner in the tank
*Replaced the valve cover gasket(leaking and making a mess)
*Set the timing in an advanced position.
(just for the record)

I think we should focus on that. Electricity. I know you already fucked around with the distrib., but try replacing it with another. Weirder shit has happened than replacing a bad distrib with a new bad distrib.
Also, check the spark plug gaps. Proper tool: http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...8076&ref=81902
Gap should be 0.044

I would hate to think the guy guy at the salvage shop sold me a bad or incorrect Dist. It looked like and after market with very little wear. I have thought of this but did not want to believe that I pissed away 80.00 buck to the salvage guy. I did not see the car that it came from either.
