paint job on my teg
I live in the Bay Area,
some guy wants $500 to paint the whole car 1 stage, urathane paint.
is that a good deal?
please tell me if you know any good place to get a car painted. my budget is 1k.

Same color? Fixing Dents? What color paint?
$500 is really cheap and for the most part, you could almost spend $500 just in materials for a paint job. A good quality paint job will run you closer to $1,000-1,500. But if you know the guy and knows that he does good work, then go for it. It's all about what you want out of it.

wow I live in the Bay Area too! Let me know where this guy is at and tell me if and when you get your car painted cuz I'm gonna have to do the same later on when i get a new front end. I wanna check it out to see if he does a good job. =Þ

he painted my friend car for $500. It looked good. he will do the same for my car $500, no dent or fixing.
I'm planning on paint my 95 integra black. you think it's a good color?
if anyone interested, i'll let you know where he's at. i'll post pix after so you guys can check it out.

Single stage urathane paint is not a great choice if you want a quality paint job. Basecoat/Clearcoat is the way to go, but if you just want to cover the car go ahead. I hope he sands it well or the first time you go to the car wash your car will be its old color again. You might as well go to Earl Schibe or Maaco. Thats what they use. Good Luck...

single stage urathane is that bad? how long do you think it will last?

Single stage SSSSSsuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkkkkkkksssssssss! Paid 800 for that crap to be sprayed on my car.....got rid of it as soon as possible. Just doesn't look good in my opinion. As said above, basecoat/ clearcoat is the way to go. That's what I have now.
