Keep it tuned up with regular maintenence and don't drive like a bat out of hell.

Other than that, there isn't really much you can do.

Weight reduction would help, maybe lighter rims.

If your car is a manual transmission model:
1) Accelerate from a stop less quickly.
2) Upshift sooner (say around 4500 rpm instead of 6200rpm)

If you've got an automatic transmission:
1) Accomplish the same goals by not flooring the gas pedal quite as often.

yes it will...

the idea is to keep the RPM's of the engine as low as possible.. if you have a manual which it seems you do when you are just rolling put it in neutral.... i usually put mine in 5th even at slower speeds to save gas, if i need to speed up i downshift to 3rd and then i upshift directly to 5th again once i'm back to where i want to stay

yeah i love putting my car in neutral on downhills or when i foresee a red light. I ride out my brakes a little more but so what. Downshifting helps save my brakes but i don't think downshiftings really a good thing unless you need that extra torque to accelerate past someone in the right lane.

Speaking of which, I hate slow drivers in the left lane. they should be massacred. I drive around them in the right lane, get in front of them, and go slow as hell to give them a taste of their own medicine. drivers talking on cell phones should be massacred as well.

I don't really do anything mentioned here but if you want better gas mileage and don't want to spend anything just take off your resonator. It'll be louder but save you get. I drive kinda hard and I get 28-29 mpg.
