Everything comes at a price.....

A larger turbo will give better gains, but you will then have to combat turbo lag. The greatest thing about my little turbo is the fact that it spools almost instantly, whereas a larger one would spool slower since it takes more exhaust gas to spin it.

And you don't want to be throwing the biggest turbo you can find on the car. You want it to be at a nice point on the compressor efficiency map so that it has a nice balance of power and lag and it either isn't too big for your engine to swallow the air it flows and spool it, or too small that it just blows hot air at high RPMs.

You have to select a turbocharger according to your engine's displacement.
If you put a bigger turbocharger than what your engine can handle, you will end up with a little to no gain in overall performance and horrible engine responce. You car will also lose a considerable amount of hp and torque at low rpm (For large turbo chargers, this rpm can be roughly between 3000-4000rpm and the power loss can be much higher to a point where there's virtually no power available before the turbo kicks in) in addition to a momentary lag when you give it more gas... Imagine having to rev your engine past 3000 rpm every time when you simply want your car to get going.

Turbo is an easy way to get 250 hp, but all motor is also possible. Depends on how much money you wanna spend. The all motor route in achieving 250 whp will obviously end up costing you more than boosting but it's not impossible (might need a different head & some). All based on preference. The big question is, how deep is ur pocket?
