Default Vtec mileage?

Hey, I was just curious if anyone knew, or had a decent estimate of what your mileage looks like when you're driving in vtec...

I definitly filled my gas tank on friday after work, then refilled it, and am already back down to about half a tank, but i've spent a good chunk in vtec on the highway this weekend... so I dunno if i've got a problem, or if the vtec sucks gas harder than a pornstar su... well.. you get it.

p.s.
Sorry for making a few threads so rapidly... gotta couple questions I can't find via search.

Being in VTEC will suck more gas than normal driving. The fuel maps are more aggressive in VTEC, for high rpm and throttle percentages....not for fuel economy. It's normal.

12mpg? Ive gotten down near 17 before, so Im guessing if you kept it in vtec for most of the tank it would be 12 or below.

This is a "no common sense" post. Of course you're going to kill more gas if you are at a higher rpm than normal driving. Higher rpm=more gas consumption. Thus, if you're in vtec, I am assuming that you are over 4,500, you will consume more fuel. Vtec has nothing to do with it.

I 'm not THAT dumb... I know the harder you push, especially with a vtec engine, the lower your milage becomes, I was asking HOW MUCH it becomes, for an estimate....

Wasn't always 5th gear... I was lost, and trying to catch up with a friend who got too far ahead of me in toll-booth-traffic.

tegs are designed to get the best mpg at 60mph right, like most other cars? 3k rpm in 5th is exactly 60mph for me

Same here... unfortunatley, that's also right where my "rattle" tegs are notorious for comes in.
