Default plans for future mods

Alright, I'm kinda looking into the future with respect to what I want to do to my car, and I've been thinking about just getting an engine swap as opposed to working on my existing B18B... Now I was looking at two different engines, namely the B18C and the F20B (my idea for the latter coming from here)

Now my question to you is this...which would you all recommend and why? I'm assuming the F20 will have more torque, cause of its larger displacement, but what about parts availability?

My limiter here is, to a certain extent, money...I'd like to pay no more than 3k for the engine and all required parts, and I'm seeing here that the F20 is well within reach given my tentative budget. Now, if I were to go with this engine, I'm paying more to begin with, but I also get the guarantee that I'll be able to find parts for the thing.

So, what say you?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...I'm planning ahead for my mods, and I just really don't know quite enough at this point to determine what I should do.

Peace
Brian

P.S.: If anyone knows of a better/more reliable place online to get complete engines, lemme know!

Go with the B18C1. How many miles you got on your B18B?

I agree. There is no reason to rip out a perfectly capable engine for a swap that will cost just as much as a nice turbo setup.

The turbo setup will give you much more power and you will probably be happier with the result.

I was thinking the same thing, but that is why I asked how many miles are on it.

Rebuilding + Turbo is still more cost effective in terms of power to $.

I have 138K miles on mine and it is still a whore.

yeah, right now I've got close to 103k miles on it...now keep in mind I'm planning on doing something like this in like 2-3 years or so...I just gotta start saving up now cause I barely have any time during the college year to make money, so all the money i make is over the summer.

how essential would an engine rebuild be if I'm going turbo? I'm thinking when the time comes around that I'd have the money secured to do such a thing, my car will have around 160-180k miles on it.

thanks for the input
