What does it do when you crank it? You sure it's not the battery?

You can take the starter to an auto store and they will test it for free.

in responce to what does it do when i crank it. well it just makes a clicking sound. it doesnt make the loud starter noise like a normal car. it sounds like if u took two screw drivers and hit them together. like a metal tapping sound.

and to the other person thanks for the autozone tip. i didnt no i could take them the starter to have them test it. good lookin out man. thanks

if you turn the key to start the car and hear click...click...click...click, that means your battery is this -> <- close to being dead...I say check the battery before the starter...easier to replace
