you are confused.

here i go one more time .....vtec is at 4400. there is no second stage of vtec. that is an internet myth. what you hear at 5750-5800 are the intake secondaries opening.

That's what I call the "phase 2" which I write it with " " because I know it's not the right term.

i think you guys scared him off... haha

anyways, if the VIN is a DC4... and he has a red head, im guessing its an LS/VTEC.

lou... thats an Integra LS (B18B) Block with a Civic Si or Integra Type-R head. (From B16 or B18C or B18C5... whatever) and it DOES sound like he has a shift light modified by the phone company... lol

0-4400 RPM: Low-lift cam lobe and long intake runners.
4400-5800 RPM: High-lift cam lobe and long intake runners.
Stage 3 5800+ RPM: High-lift cam lobe and short intake runners.

Listen real close and you will hear a change in the engine a 4400 RPM, but its not as dramatic as when the secondary butterflies open. Used to give the GSR a flatter torque curve. This is part of the reason why the GSR makes almost as much torque as the type r but at 1300 rpm sooner.
