Default Has this ever happend to you? AC Question

Hey guys my ac is leaking. I was wondering does this happen to alot of you? When you put on an after market intake your suppose to brace it. But my dumbass forgot. Now my ac is leaking from the two hoses under the intake. The intake rubbed through the rubber and flaten out the hose. There is a little hole, is there anyway to bond it? The hole is very small you wouldn't even notice it unless you spray soap water on it you will see little bubbles. I tryed the freon with the sealent and It didn't last long. So I guess the reason why I post this is to find out have anyone experence this and came up with a quick fix. Or if someone has theses ac lines sitting around that they didn't need. Well thanks for reading.

try a dab of like superglue, that should work.

if not u can pick up the ac lines "used" for cheap.

Default Superglue is unlikely to hold

Superglue doesn't have the torsional strength to hold very long where it will be subject to rapid temperature changes and motion stress. The ac line will contract and expand at a significantly different rate than the cyanoacrylate breaking the bond.

Better to make an effectively sealed patch using:
1" i.d. vinyl tubing (plumbing aisle of home depot) less than $1
Silicone sealant (any gasket in a tube from the auto parts store, preferable for their heat resistance)
a couple of hose clamps, the kind that screw tight

Cut a one inch length of the tubing, split one wall lenghtwise. Put a dollop of the sealant on the hole, wrap the tube around it (trim as necessare to keep the ends from overlapping) and secure with clamps.

The sealant is really doing the work, but silicone doesn't really adhear to the surface so the tube and clamps keep it in place

Thanks guys Im going to try JB weld. Is there a way I can add pressure in the hoses so I can see if it's still leaking. I spent $60 on A40 already I don't want to recharge it again and have the freon leak out agian.

Gorilla Glue holds up pretty well at high temps

thats happened to me before and all you can really do is replace it. mine was a 1/2 slit. first i tried welding it and that didn't work. then i cut the pipe in half on either side of the hole and tried to use a high-pressure line to secure it...didn't work either. the pressure sent the fluid through the seams. i honestly don't think glue or adhesive or similiar will hold. the pressure will pop it right out. your best bet is to suck it up and get a replacement line.

DUDE No way! I swear to you i just had the same thing happen! The bigger AC line is rubbed raw and is leaking like a bitch. I had NO clue i was supposed to brace it!!! Well, now I know.

THe guys at the shop i work at told me to go ahead and get another line, and they would bend the line for me so that it wouldn't rub against my intake. Also, I have to find a way to get my intake away from the frame of my car in the engine bay way down low. If it rubs any more, it might rub a hole in the intake!
