idle control sensor help please 911
hey everybody. have a 99 civic hatch with a 97 jap. spec ls motor that has a garret turbo on it. i recently thru a check engine code for my idle control sensor. or i think its called aicv or something like that. my question is can i take it apart and fix it by cleaning it,or do i have to replace it. the car starts but once i let off the gas it staalls out. every blue moon if i drive it for a hour or so straight it will hold a idle for a minute or so. need 911 help on this one. tired of popping it in neatral and using the handbrake to stop that way i can keep my foot on the gas.
the IACV is located on the back of the Intake manifold, its just 2 12mm bolts holding it on. Try cleaning it with some carb cleaner or throttle body clean, make sure you remove the gasket before you clean the IACV
thanks for the help man. so just remove the gasket spray carb cleaner in it and dump it out to get the dirt out. or is there a special trick to it. do u think its saveable because a new one is like $250
