Default type r manifold

I know a type r manifold will fit on a gsr but I was wondering if there is any mods you have to do in order for it to fit,or is it just a derect bolt on.
I was also wondering if a skunk 2 type r would fit pls let me know thanks

umm a type R manifold will not fit a GSR head... i have a skunk2 intake on my gsr with a honda-data gasket, way better idea then getting a type R intake manifold to fit on a gsr head

Would the skunk2 give more low end power or more mid/top end power. So would that mean the Type R head & Ls head are more alike. I also thought that the Type R manifold would fit , like I hear the Type R manifold would fit a 1G B16 head, but I could be wrong...

the type r manifold will not be a direct bolt on for the gsr. you have to modify the head to make it work. some have done it just search some sites. but as gssr stated the skunk2 manifold is almost an exact replica of the type r manifold. it has the same concept of using one port and not two like the gsr. so, you will definitely get a better performance out of it. but don't expect it to make a huge change because you have to do other mods to make it do that. but i also read on the sites selling the skunk 2 is that it affects emissions, so if you do decide on that don't sell your manifold you can install it when you get the emissions checked and then switch it back.

well, if you say it comes with carb stickers and all then that's the best way to go. but i was going to buy one from modacar.com and it says this item will effect emissions which is why i was hesitating on buying it. but since you say there are carb stickers then all is good. thanks for the info.

The skunk2 manifolds are now CARB certified. They make high rpm power, not low-midrange. If you want low/midrange, keep your OEM GSR manifold.

Again, that makes high RPM power...it's great for boost with it's large plenum area. For N/A, stick to skunk2.
