I just did a motor swap and my GSR engine is at 1000 RPM at idle. I did a vacuum test and the result shows no leak. Took out the IAC valve and cleaned it. Went through the entire procedure from the HELMS that show you how to readjust the idle but still cannot bring it down. Basically I have tighten the idle control screw on the throttle body all the way as well as loosen the throttle cable but still staying at 1000. Other than that the car runs fine with the exception of the high idling. If anyone have something that I left out the picture please let me know. Thanks...

 

Was the engine at operating temperature? That idle speed is normal if the engine hasn't warmed up yet.

 

Thats the operating temperature. At start up the idle goes to 2000 then down to 1500 after a few minutes and steady out at 1000 at operating temp.

Sounds like you've check it ALL out. Try replacing the IACV with another, used they are about $30-40 and new is about $150 from my Honda dealer. Try adjusting the throttle cable again, I've done this a few times and it worked for my GSR swap. That should do it, just loosen it up some more see what that does.

If that neither of those work unplug the connector ont he IACV THEN and only THEN you adjust the idle screw ont he throttle body. Shut off the motor and un plug the ecu fuse under the hood for 1 min and plug the IACV back in. Check the idle if its 750+- 50 rpm's its good to go, if not I don't know what else?
