Timing chain replacement
I'm sure this has been posted many times before but I'm curious about changing the timing chain on my '98 LS and I wanted to find the procedures. I'm hearing about the bolt that takes an act of God to remove but if that's the hardest part, I'm up to the task. Where can I find step-by-step instructions? Thanks in advance.
Firstly, it is a belt, not a chain.
Secondly, take a look at the procedure in this PDF format of the factory service manual. If you aren't mechanically inclined and/or don't have the proper tools, save yourself a lot of time and frustration and have a shop do it for you.

I think I'll give it a shot myself. I can get the special tools I'll need to get the job done and I'm pretty mechanically inclined. I spent 6 of my 13 years in the Marines turning wrenches on helicopters. I know that doesn't mean sh*t when it comes to a car but looking at the instructions, I think I can handle it.
Thanks for the link.

It can be a pain with the engine still in the car, the space is quite cramped...but I'm sure you can accomplish it without a problem. Good luck.
Oh, and that bolt isn't difficult to get off with a nice impact gun, or a huge breaker bar.
