a couple of questions!
Alrighty then, I didnt want to flood the forum with one thread for each question, so I decided to put em all here, but first off, my car/pride/joy:
1996 Acura Integra LS Special Edition 4-door (woohoo!) All I've got into my baby so far is a new sound system (head unit and all 4 speakers), Brembo front slotted rotors, and PBR/Axxis Ultimate brake pads all around.
So, my questions:
1) I just got my AEM CAI and bypass valve in the mail today!! I'm sure at least some of you understand my happiness when I came home from work to see a big white box with AEM all over it just waiting for me
So my question here is simply this: is there anything I should look out for that isn't really explained in the manual or any tips/tricks of installing it?
2) I was having problems with my head unit losing power (etc etc etc), all of which are now fixed, but I noticed something interesting around the interior fuse box in the process:
Look at this picture, in the upper left-ish area there is the "5" plug...this was plugged into it, while there was a pretty thin red wire with a frayed end just dangling...now i'm assuming the red wire was supposed to be in there, because it looks like there's a few wires still in the end-piece in the second picture. Does anyone know what this is for?
3) While down in the driver's side footwell, I also noticed this (pic1, pic2) curious-looking button...Now my car didn't come with an 0wnz0r's m4nu4l when I got it, so I'm not sure what it does, and I'm afraid to just go ahead and press it
It just doesnt look to me like an aftermarket thing, because there are specific mounting points for the box on the panel there, and the box itself has "Honda" on it...any ideas?
If it matters at all, my car had an aftermarket dillio installed (by the previous owner) where if you get in, press the clutch, and just go to start the car, the horn beaps and the car doesnt start...you have to press the clutch, turn the key to the on position, press the button for the [deleted
], then the car starts...
heh, I know this is a good bit, and I have some more questions stored up in my head somewhere, but those are for later, but any help on any of these questions would be greatly appreciated!
Peace
Brian

1) Just follow the instructions. They are straight forward and it is pretty hard to mess up an intake install.
2) Looks like something that the previous owner added that he removed. Those are available at any hardware store, so he must have tapped into the fuse box to power something.
3) That resets the maintenence required light. The box just holds odometer information that will cause the light to flash after driving for a certain amount of time reminding you to take the car in for maintenence.
