Default Oil Leak

It started about a week ago, on the ground, everywhere I park theres usually a spot about 1.5" in diameter... I seem to lose about a quart every 4~6 days... when driving, I can sometimes smell a burning oil type smell... just wondering what areas on the engine could cause a leak like that (so I know where to look for), and also, how much to fix each particular leak area... thanks!

you can start by looking around your valve cover and the head. then look around your oil-pan and look around your tranny for oil. if the oil is coming from where the tranny is it would be your rear-main seal.

Check the valve cover, cam seal (near the distributor), oil filter near the rear of the engine, oil pan and drain plug, etc. Park it and see where the oil drops to underneath the car, and then follow it from there.

The oil pressure sensor has also been known to leak. It is right above the oil filter, so you may want to check that too.

I got home from work, walked to the front of my car, and there was oil dripping everywhere... opened the hood, the oil cap was completely missing... would it be possible that it was damaged and oil was being forced out when driving and then leaking down when parked... and obviously now it was leaking alot because the cap was completely missing... I bought a new oil cap, changed my oil, gonna clean the engine tonight and check for any other leaks tomorrow morning...

lol I believe you have found the leak. If tightened, oil caps dont just fall off.

Yeah...in fact, they can be quite a bitch to remove sometimes.
