Default Oil leak

I have an oil leak on my DC02 Integra Type R, on the left had side of the engine under the inlet manifold, and there is blue smoke coming from around the same area. Just had the breakdown guy out to take a look at it, he looked at it for 10 secs and said it looked like the crankcase breather trap was clogged causing the oil to back pressure and leak out from the gasket and also push up into the air workings of the car, hence the blue smoke as well.

Has anyone else come accross this before, and what causes it?

Any other advice would also be good, further info for you, there's no loss in power or performance but it is using a lot of oil. When I really put my foot down and use the VTEC at high revs I get blue smoke coming out of the exhaust as well.

thanks
Matt
