Default Removing underbody heatshield?

Has anyone tried to remove their underbody heatshield? Its a 95...I'm not sure if that makes any difference. I want to remove it because its vibrating constantly and the noise is driving me crazy. I tried searching the forums and couldn't find anything. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Amanda.

Is it the one near the resonator after the cat? You will need to unbolt the exhaust piping to get to the bolts, but it is pretty easy with basic hand tools.

I had the vibrating too, but it was the faulty A-pipe that most GSR's made around that time have. I just replaced the exhaust manifold with a DC sports header.

dampen the vibration or fix the problem. NEVER remove heatshields permanently. If your exhaust overheats, which it can, your ass might start getting hot as things begin to burn inside your car's floor.

Can't say i've honestly ever heard of anyone having a problem with stuff catching on fire from removing their heatshields.

Is there some sort of non-flammable insulation or is there possibly a different thing I could use as a heat shield?

You can buy a fabric heatshield and put it on there, but I have removed all my heatshields and am running thicker exhaust with a turbo and I haven't noticed anything burning.

Well then I think until I start to notice something I'll wait to put fabric on (i'm way broke). I was looking in my haynes manual and couldn't find exactly where this is. Isn't it above where the cat should be?
