Default Turbo Auto?

Ok... so my friend has been building up his gsr swapped hatch and has been building a turbo for over the last year, and he has pretty much stopped. He has the turbo, intercooler, bov, pretty much everything except for something to control it... Now, I wonder if I should buy his turbo off of him for my auto LS, just for shits and giggles, or if I should just get some hp in a bottle if I want boosted power.

Also, My roomate just got a job as a mechanic at a local shop here and they get parts for their cars/friends car at wholesale pricing, and we can use the shop/lift/tools after hours... so I think I may actually go ahead with an AT to MT swap. Comments, suggestions? (I've heard "Sell your car and buy yourself a manual" way too many times.)

If you're going to keep your car, and turbo it, putting on an MT is nearly a requirement. That integra auto tranny will go boom very quickly if you keep it in

unless you plan on running 9-10 second 1/4 miles with an auto (which btw you would have to upgrade the gear box) then ditch the auto or do a conversion if u really wanna keep ur car

errr... the integra auto is really weak... I wouldn't trust more than 170whp on that. The JDM Auto GSR (170 ps) uses the same auto tranny... so I think that's the upper limit. I've already gone through one, and the second one is leaking oil.

wait for the AT/MT swap.. then start on the engine mods. from what i hear, you don't gain much at all from a AT turbo teg.

thats what I figured too... so I dont know which I would do first: A small shot of nitrous to help my speedier needs ( first and foremost at the track of course, secondly, I dont think id waste a spray on anyone in the streets), or *attempt* the auto-manual swap once I talk to my friend about helping me out and ordering the parts...

Im thinking... the basic ls manual components, except for an act clutch, and maybe a lightened flywheel? If money were to allow it, an LSD of course... anyone have any preference over the gsr "lsd" or an aftermarket?
