what's the tinting law in NY? I want to have my windows tinted but don't know what's legal. How can I find this info out?

as dark as you want in the back 3 windows, 70% in the front.

 

isn't 70% like nothing? does anyone have a pic of what 70% looks like?

window tinting works backward. so it would be 30% on the front 2 windows.. and to your question 30% is really nothing but if you dont wanna be harrased by the pigs thats your best bet.

 

if you dont wanna be harassed....then you dont tint ur windows, im in CA where the tinting law is nothing on the front two, dark as u want on the back (x) number of windows, i have limo on the front 2 and double limo on the rest...limo i believe is a 15% or so...and as long as ur not an asshole on the road and respect the other drivers, then they really will not pull u over JUST for tint, the tint always gets thrown on top of ur speeding ticket or something

 

its really 35% but how noticable it is depends on the color of the car...im red running 25% all around and nothing has happened yet. >knocks on wood< My friend got the same tints done from the same place at the same time and has gotten pulled over twice already. His car is white. I know i will get pulled over eventually....so i suggest 35%.

P.S any tint ticket is BS unless they use the device that measures it.

 

interior color has more effect on tint. if you have light colored interior than the tint looks lighter, darker, the tint looks darker

note that factory windows come tinted a lil bit so you can't just put 35% tint on, you'll be at around 30% tint and still illegal, run 40% to be safe if you want to be legal

me, it'd put 20% all around and call it a day
