Default Lightbulb Queston from nOOb

Good morning!

I own a 1996 Teg 2dr LS and the driver side low beam bulb has burnt out. My question is if I have to remove the entire headlight assembly or just replace the bulb itself?

I was thinking of going with the Sylvania Silverstar for the bulb of choice..

Thanks!

Dave

p.s. - yes, I am a nOOb

Just replace the bulb itself...it's really easy!
Yeah Silverstar's are pretty good.

The bulbs can be removed from the back of the lamp with minimal fuss.
Just be sure that you do not touch the glass on the new bulbs when installing them.

And BTW, welcome to HAN.

Just out of curiosity, what happens if I do touch the glass on the bulb? Does the oil from my fingers cause something?

And thanks for having me! This forum is the best I have seen for Honda/Acura vehicles. I have learned some things about my car I didn't know before.

If you touch the glass, the oils left behind will heat up and ultimately cause the bulb to crack and fail. If you do touch the glass by accident, use a solvent like denatured alcohol to clean the glass before installing the bulb.

silverstars are an excellent choice! :goodjob: i love mine. the only thing is you would need to buy the silverstars for the high beams also. well, you dont NEED them but it would look goofy

be wary of doing the 9005 conversion with the silverstars though. I just had another bulb go out on me last night. That's like the second one.

Well I bought the Silverstars last night and installed them at a friends place. They are pretty sweet and put out way more light than the stock p.o.s. I had in there.

I see the light!

Thanks for all your input!!!
