Default Painting 94-97 Tails

OK...First, i already used the search button but pretty much all i could find was DIY on civics. Anybody know a link or could tell me how to paint 94-97 to best look like 98+? Thanks

they sell this transparent red tape i believe....if you pm carta79 he knows. You can't even tell...

oh if you know anyone with altezza's they usually are willing to sell there 98+ tailights and for pretty cheap because there so in love with there altezza's :chuckles:

You can go and buy some spray paint. It's called Transparent Candy Apple Red and it's by Testors. Get one can and do whatever you want with your tails. I painted my tails with this paint and I think it looks great...

Or you could use Metalcast. Parts stores sell it for reasonable prices. I wanted the solid color look for my Civic so I bought some mellow looking Altezza's and sprayed them all red. I put some clear coat on em to protect the paint from chipping or scratching so easy. And viola! It was too easy.

do you have to pop open the light housing itself or just pain the outside? what should i do about marking off the reverse light?

i'd tape the reverse lights up....are you asking if you should paint the lights on the car or take them off???

im talking about taking the lens off the housing and painting the inside of the lens or should i just paint the outside of the lights?

Just paint the outside of the lens....make sure you tape of the parts you don't want painted. Here is a pic of my lens that I painted myself...I will post pics of it on my car as well...I think it would look better on the car!
