Default Is my main relay gone?

My 89 Integra RS (automatic) doesnt like to start after running for a while, or when its sitting in the sun for a while. And i noticed that i dont hear the fuel pump initiate all the time. The car starts fine in the morning when sitting in the cool parking garage, but when its warm its doesnt start easy. Its starts then dies quick and after that it just turns over. I believe its my main relay that need to be replaced, not sure though.

yea thats the same problem im having with mine. I was told it was the main relay. Mine is a 92 teg gs. You will either have to resolder it or replace it.

Sounds like the main relay to me. If you are confortable with soldering, go ahead and open it up and fix the connections. Otherwise, just buy a new one. They aren't that expensive.

Hmm.

The main relay on my bike is protected by a fuse. I freaked out one time because I thought I had fried it during an accessory install. But it turned out being a 30 Amp fuse I think.

Just a thought...

I doubt a fuse would be the culprit. Main relays will go bad after that much time and the symptoms he is describing is very charactistic of the soldered joints inside the relay going/gone bad.

yea i assume it is. I am in hawaii and it gets hot here to. I found a relay @ checkers for 50bux and im gonna go get it when i leave work. The crap part is gonna be finding it. I looked near the fuse box area and no luck. Im sure when i have time ill find the damn thing. I hear its a pain in the ass to find, and i was told to place the new one in a spot less prone to heat.

Here is my main relay visible without even removing the kick panel. You should be able to just remove the kick panel and find it.
