Default 90 integ distributor problem

hey i think theres sumpthin wrong with my distributor but not sure. i had to replace my distributor cap cus it was cracked and so i did. i also rplaced the rotor inside of it. but after i replaced everything and put it back to how it suppose to go, it makes a clicking noise when i turn it on. th noise was there before i replaced it but its kinda louder now. im thinkin it was dis piece of plastic that is inside the disributor that protects the rotor form the rest of it. i was wondering if that was the problem? and if not can i remove the plastic inside the dostributor and turn on the car without risking any mechanical failures? thanks

mine was making a squeeking noise until i found out it was the bearing going out inside the distributor. best to replace the whole thing. if you dont you might have alot more problems on your plate than a bad dizzy.
