Default New Member, new (used) integra

I'm a new member and I just bought a project integra. My first (and only previous) car was a 2000 Ford Contour SVT. I have been an avid enthusiast of Hondas/Acuras for a couple of years (YES - even though I was driving a Ford).

It's a 94 Integra RS (I believe since there is no sunroof). I'm not quite sure what options there are and it's not running yet. It has what appears to be a B18C1, ceramic DC Headers, a Greddy Evo catback, noname coilovers around KYB AGX shocks. It's got a JDM rad support and fenders, but the headlights, front bumper, and hood were stolen (which is why I got the car cheap).

During the theft, the theives cut the steering wheel (I assume to get "the club" off of it), cut the alarm, keyed much of the body, stole the subs and back seat, stereo equip, door panels, battery, distributor, spark plug wires, intake (everything filter-side of the TB), and cut the hell outta the alarm.

I will get pics up when I get a camera, but my main question is: what are the six or so metal pipes located just behind the passenger headlight (near where the stock airbox is). Power steering, brakes, something of the like? The car doesn't seem to have anything in that corner of the engine compartment.

Also, the seller had a key lock, but somehow lost it (or didn't give it to me). He said he bought the lock at Kragen. It appears to be the same pattern as my mother's stock Honda keylock, but with a larger diameter pattern and overall bolt diameter. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out what brand keylock it is or where I might get one? My first step is going to be to check the local autoparts stores (Kragen, PepBoys, etc).

More questions:

- What distributors should work with my OBD1 GSR engine? (what about an OBD1 B16 dist?)
- What size battery does a DC2 take? I've seen one store that says 51. I'm specifically looking for an Optima.
- What's a good intake for a GSR? I like the looks of the J's Racing / Password JDM carbon fiber intakes shaped like slugs. I Don't like the AEM-style pipes, but i am in CA and do need to worry about CARB exempt parts. Has anyone compiled a grid/table of options for us?

Please feel free to buzz in with any questions/comments.

Need pictures for telling you what pipes those are. but for a guess i would say it could be parts of/from the Air Conditioning.

The battery is a 51R

Do a search on the CAI, theyt all are the same, buut come with in different shapes and forms and "may produce" different "sounds". PM shmoo, he lives in Cali, he would know mopre about the legality of aftermarket parts in your state.

Those metal lines are the ABS system, RS does not have ABS, keep that in mind when driving in the rain. The battery has the terminals backwards from a regular one as I recall from my last battery purchase. Not sure what key lock you are talking about, if it is for the wheel locks, PM me and I will tell you a method to remove them.

For smog legality, I personally would go for an AEM SRI. You will not have to worry about hydrolock and they create a little more power than CAIs.

Or you can buy an ebay filter on a stick for $30 and then slap the stock intake system back in there when it comes time for the test.

I really don't know much about smog regulations, so I will probably be rudely awakened in September when I have to try and get this beast smogged.

just got this from the AEM website -
1/4 mile times as per AEM testing on a 95 civic DX

with a V2 - 16.6 s
AEM CAI - 16.8 s
stock - 17.1 s

not sure how they work with the tegs

and here is the dyno of all three on a 2000 civic dx

Default Thanks for the replies guys.

I drove to two local pick n pulls and unfortunately they had few G2s and no G3s yet.

I am gonna shop on craigslist and ebay for some all red tails and a full distributor assembly.

I looked the car over today and it's in remarkably good shape considering it looks like the thiefs intentionally vandalized it (key scratches, stomped on a side skirt, ripped off the rear A emblem.

Someone near me claims to be able to get a deal on Optima Yelllows, so I will try to get one. I've heard good things about the deep cycles (at least for powering large stereos). the 'R' in '51R' is for reversed terminals, right?

I suspect that the lines near the air intake are ABS, so I will have to keep that in mind. I am gonna try and buy a bootlegged Acura repair manual cd for a few bucks and see what it says.

Default Pics are up!

I've never posted images on this board before, but I will try (moderators: please feel free to do as you will if they are ungodly large for the forum template):

Engine bay:

notice the missing:
- battery (upper left),
- distributor (on the upper left of the valve cover),
- spark plug wires
- air intake
- and probably more

Front driver's quarter:

Missing body pieces:
- JDM hood (already ordered)
- JDM front bumper support (shopping for one)
- JDM front bumper cover/valence (already ordered)
- JDM headlights (shopping for a pair)
- JDM fenders (I got a pair)

Interior:

Missing:
- stereo,
- rear seats,
- door panels
- a working ignition
- they cut straight through the steering wheel (so much for "the club")
