would a type r cat fit onto a 99 ls? I've searched around on TI and HAN and for the most part, I think it'll fit but i need to make sure.

The reason i ask is because i'm intrested in buying a type r exhaust that is going to be coming with the type R cat, but i need to know if the cat will bolt right on or not. If it doesnt, then ya....

Like Shmoo said...Yup and the 00-01 gsr also has the same header and exhaust as the 94-01 Ls and Type R. The only time the changed the exhaust was for the 94-99 Gs-R, and of course they made the 4 dr exhaust different.

Arent like Cats universal??? I'm not sure but I think they might be. Why would you want to put a type r cat on anyways, you can just get a highflow cat or a test pipe for more power

 

No. If you have looked at the difference between the 00-01 GSR and the 94-99 GSR cats, you would see that the 94-99 GSR's cat is longer.

They are universal but you still have to get the flanges welded on to fit the specific model and you need may need to modify the piping to fit because it may be longer or shorter than the cat.
