Default Block heater install

im looking at buying a 2000-1998 GS or GS-R, i was wondering if any one would have any idea how difficult it would be to install a block heater (as i live in Canada and will be buying the car from the states)? how much will it likely cost if i do it myself compared to taking it to the shop? and if theres anything i need to look out for on that year of car? and any other possible issues about getting a car from the southern states?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

The block heater itself is $40 and the shop quoted me $160 for the install.

My car came from out of province and I wanted a block heater. Instead I just invested in a good battery and I haven't had problems. If you have a newer car I can't foresee troubles starting the car.

I'm in Calgary though, Winnipeg winter's may be worse.
