Default Fuel Problems?

does anybody know if installing a walbro 255 fuel pump will mess up the pressure to the injectors and cause it to not start?

it has been having a lot of problems lately and only starts when i use starter fluid into the intake manifold. it seems to have decent spark...its white...and i just replaced the battery but i have no idea what it could be other than the fuel pressure regulator? Tell me what you think.......
thanks

If it starts on starting fluid does it stay running?? If not then you have a fuel supply problem, does the pump work? If it stays running after you get it started you have a volume or pressure problem.

Sounds more like a vacuum leak than a fuel problem. Try leaving your intake snorkel assy together and cranking the car while spraying starting fluid at potential vacuum leak sources. See if the car will start that way. I had this prob on my beater escort. We thought the intake gasket was leaking, but the fluid was hitting the intake and being sucked in through the egr gasket. This really sounds like an air problem, not fuel.
