Default Clutch and Flywheel

I know weights were just covered on flywheels, but what about materials? I'm searching for a new clutch/flywheel combo for my 2001 GSR and had some questions.
Does aluminum offer any benefits besides better heat dissipation? Obviously they will be lighter while retaining more material, but do they wear out quicker?

As far as clutches go, I've searched and found many like ACT and Exedy, but haven't seen much about the Centerforce. A buddy of mine has one in his eclipse and swears by it. This car will be turbo’d next summer with 6-8psi of boost and will also be daily driven.

Any recommendations? Brands? Where to get them from?

Fidanza are aluminum with chromoly steel bolted on. Personally, I prefer one whole piece. Also, I read somewhere that all aluminum flywheel tend to warp under heat.

That's what I was thinking too. I've heard good things about Fidanza flywheels too. :dunno:

Anyone else have any suggestions?

The fidanza may be a little too light for your tastes. ACT makes a 9lb prolite and 12lb streetlite flywheel. I plan on getting the prolite once I have enough money for that and the new ACT HDSS clutch.

Stock clutches and boost don't mix too well. Mine is well on its way out after 10k miles.

Thanks for the recomendation on the flywheel. I think the streetlite will work well for me.

Do you think the HDSS will be strong enough for boost? Would an HDR4/R6 be better? How about an XTSS?

Not trying to be an ass. Just curious on your thoughts. h:

Depends on how much power you will be making with boost....

I have the Greddy kit and the stock clutch won't work, so the ACT HDSS will be able to handle up to 240 ft/lbs of torque. It should be more than enough with smooth engagment and like stock pedal feel.
