Default Heat shield removed (rattle cured)...should I replace?

I was having an absolutely horrible rattle with my 95 Integra LS. My friendly neighborhood shop removed the heat shield during a recent brake service....problem solved!

The shop recommends replacing the heat shield with new parts. Do I need to replace it?

Thanks

You don't NEED to. The stock exhaust system won't get really hot enough to damage anything. I have removed most, if not all, of my heatshields without an ill effect (except for the turbo manifold, but that is a different story).
